"The New York Yankees have two of the slickest infielders in baseball in Billy Gardner and Cletis Boyer.
Billy came to the Yanks in a swap with the Minnesota Twins last year. He had been a regular with the Baltimore Orioles for four years and in 1957 led the American League with 644 at-bats. The infielder started in baseball with the New York Giants.
Cletis joined the New York organization in 1957 in an 11-man trade with Kansas City. Capable of playing third base or shortstop, Cletis has shown he has one of the strongest throwing arms in baseball. He tied a World Series record in 1960 by batting six times in a nine-inning game. Clete continually thrills with his exciting fielding."
