1960 Back-O'-The-Card: Eli Grba

"After compiling a fine 5-1 record for Richmond last season, Eli was called up to the Yankees. He won his first start against the Chicago White Sox.
A graduate of American Legion ball, Eli broke into pro ball in 1953. He won 17 at San Jose in 1955 and missed the 1957 and 1958 seasons while serving in the Army. He won the most games in the Venezuelan league last winter."

1960 Back-O'-The-Card: John Gabler

"Gabler has been in the Yankee system since 1949. He is a graduate of Southwest High School in Kansas City and has pitched for Belleville, Independence, Joplin, Twin Falls, Modesto, Binghamton and Denver. He also took time out for two years of Army service.
He had a 14-8 season with Denver in 1959 and now gets another opportunity to show Manager Casey Stengel that he is ready for big time pitching. In 26 appearances with Denver he pitched 13 complete games."
