"Ed was used strictly in relief for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1954. He made 46 mound appearances, winning 5 games and losing 4. He worked 95 innings, giving up 80 hits. He walked 53 men [1.41 WHIP] and struck out 54 and his earned run average was 3.79.
Ed began in organized baseball in 1941 with Dayton of the Middle Atlantic League. He pitched one inning in one game, then joined Ashland of the Mountain State League, where he had a 9-7 record for 19 appearances."
