1960 Back-O'-The-Card: Billy Shantz

"Wilmer, brother of the Athletics' pitcher Bobby, appeared in 51 games for the Philadelphia team in 1954, hitting .256. He had 42 hits for 60 total bases. These included nine doubles, three triples and one homer, and he batted in 17 runs, scoring 13. With Ottawa in 1953, Billy was in 105 games, hitting .227.
Billy and Bobby look a great deal alike. He didn't have much opportunity to catch his brother in 1954 since Bobby's sore arm prevented him from working for the A's."

-1955 Bowman No. 175
