"Even though he has never been a 20-game winner, Whitey is regarded as one of the most skilled pitchers in baseball. He has an enviable 5-3 record in World Series play, and in 1955, he pitched the most complete games and tied a record with two consecutive 1-hitters.
He's one of the coolest workmen on the mound in baseball."
