1958 Back-O'-The-Card: Tony Kubek

"The latest of the Yankees' prize pupils, Tony was Casey Stengel's 'swing' man last year, playing wherever he was needed on a particular day. He stayed up around the .300 mark all season long. Tony was honored as the American League's Rookie of the Year in 1957.
His .331 average at Denver in 1956 convinced the Yankee brass he was ready."
